In terrific overall vint cond, w/no significant, noticeable flea-bites to any of its edges, deep abrasions, wood loss, noticeable scratches or scuffs. W/a wonderful, deep chocolate & chestnut color. Most likely realized on cedar pine wood. The surfaces remain supple & w/vivid, saturated color & has a nat, unvarnished, oiled cedar pine wood surface. The pc was hand carved by noted Native American artist Wilf Stevenson of the Nishga or Nisha'a tribe (Wolf Clan) of Greenville Nash River, British Columbia, Canadian Pacific Northwest. Realized from a single cedar pine board, it features a heavily stylized mythological thunderbird, omniscient & towering over everything around it. To its lower left is another carved bird figure's beaked head, possibly a baby thunderbird or another type of seabird. Captured is the enigmatic nature of this mythical figure to native Americans, especially to the peoples of the Pacific Northwest.
