Description
American depression era folk sculpture, wood carving, Pig.Carved from blonde, Douglas fir type of wood. This piece was in my grandparents farmhouse in Illinois. They had had it since the depression. About 10 inches long and 6 inches tall, representing a female sow pig.
Just found out that grandpa Cecil, was A member of the Oddfellow’s, who helped people during the depression. They often took hobos to different farms in Illinois to help work. Many of them carved these gifts for the hosts.
