This listing is for an original painting by Mississippi Folk artist Alice Moseley (1909-2004).
Title of the work is "Life is Such a Grind". Title is on a brass plate at the bottom of the picture and referenced on the back. Painting is signed Moseley '86.
In bright acrylic colors Moseley tells the story of Southern rural life as farmer brings corn to Miller's Mill. "See Rock City" barn" in the background.
Painting is framed in a rustic green washed barn board frame. Frame from outside edges is 18.5" by 10.5". Art opening is 15.5" by 7.75". Masking tape holds the picture in the frame. Unframed I think the painting is 16" x 8". I do think framing was at the artist's  studio in Pope Mississippi.
Artist's studio card is also taped to the back picture. Additionally is an inscription written in pen, longhand, "I hope your life won't be such a grind, David Sincerely Alice 11/21/86."
Current owner, of Memphis TN, is downsizing her collections. Artist taught in Memphis for many years.
